Vistagate selects ISP services

TelsraClear and FX networks get go ahead

Vistagate have a good relationship with TelstraClear that has endured since Vistagate first started offering Internet options for students, hotels, motels and managed apartments. As a result TelstraClear have been retained to provide internet access over their fibre network, other sites in Wellington and Auckland that have Citylink access will be using backhaul from FX Networks from the 1st of August 2008.

The decision to move to FX Networks followed an RFP process that saw proposals from a competitive ISP market place on the Citylink open access network. It was interesting to note that even though the market for services had matured we could see it was difficult for some ISP’s to gain access to other operator’s fibre networks.  The proposals where Citylink or Vector is not available were not as competitive as perhaps they could have been.

The objective of the exercise was to provide a framework to provide more bandwidth on demand, sharper pricing and selection of services with excellent reporting and a similar vision.

To this extent Vistagate are very pleased with the outcome of the RFP and look forward to continuing to meet the expectations of our customers.

Thanks to all those respondents to the RFP process.
